Okay, question:
Didn't Caleb give Lance the money so that he WOULDN'T show the tape?...For some reason, it seems to me that Caleb put the tape there himself, because since the beginning, he didn't like Julie's idea of creating "Newport Living". Something's fishy about this...or am I missing something?
You are missing a very important detail. Caleb goes to Lance's apartament and gives him the money and Lance gives the tape. However, Caleb goes to Lance's with two security guys that threat to punch Lance. So Caleb takes the money and the tape leaving Lance in a lose/lose situation. So Lance takes revenge and switchs the tape as you know. Apparently, the tape that Caleb takes was not the only copy of the "Porn Identity", Julie's porn video.
Certainly, this porn video release will bring a lot of trouble for Julie and even more in the Julie-Marissa relationship. Caleb offers Julie a trip to Europe which I think is the best answer but I think that she will not leave. If you can remember Luke's dad did not survive to the controversy when Newport discovered he was gay. That's why he moves to Portland. In Julie's case, I think that the situation will bring a lot of trouble and discussion but definitely she will not leave the show. The producers are thinking a great twist of the story. Thinking here, Caleb can ask for divorce because being married to Julie is a bad publicity for the company and Julie is going to have to start her life again. With the help of Kirsten and Sandy she will get a job and will really know how difficult life is. This situation might help in her difficult relationship with Marissa.
I'm thinking, the producers will have to decide what to do. What can I surely say it's that Julie is not leaving Newport.
